LET’ PLAY #WITHAMEX
When it comes to the US Open, fashion collabs, giveaways, celebrities get all the attention. But American Express was busy bringing the focus back to what matters most—play.
At the US Open, we transformed 20,000 sq ft into a tennis wonderland playground filled with interactive games like Glow Tennis, a digital and physical hybrid game that put a spin on the real-world sport and Trick Shot, a Rube Goldberg type of interactive tennis world of twists and turns. Plus a ton of playful services like Jason Markk sneaker cleaning and Chillhouse nail art came together to serve the joy of the game to all.
This experience has remained a constant at the US open since the launch of it back in 2022. With updates of new partners and smaller interactions, the concept of Let’s Play and the environmental design stay strong.
ROLE
Associate Design Director, 3D Designer, Experience Designer
Responsible for the overall look and feel, the material selections, the space layout and flow, the initial sketches, the 3D renders, assisting with graphics, sourcing all furniture and props, working with the technical designer to create drawings and lastly working with vendors and reviewing fabrication drawings.

GLOW TENNIS
To perfectly describe Glow Tennis, imagine tennis meets ping pong and crosses with Mario Kart. We designed the table to be low enough to the ground so that the familiarity of ping pong was there but it felt more like tennis.
