Amex + Shop Small
Through the power of augmented reality, consumers could virtually “step through” the doors of 10 small businesses, to make a purchase and support their community during Small Business Saturday.
THE DOOR TO
SHOP SMALL
In three locations across America, American Express gave shoppers virtual access to 10 small businesses by creating an artful pop up in the form of doorways during Small Business Saturday. We created physical doors that when scanned with shoppers’ phones, unlocked a whole world inspired by those featured merchants. Within each unique portal environment, consumers interact with our small business partners through the AR experience and have the opportunity to purchase one shoppable "hero" product. For consumers who could not participate IRL, they could interact with an online experience featuring the same small business partners.
