American Express showed up to Coachella ‘23 with a nostalgic 00’s camera emporium inspired space that encouraged capturing and sharing authentic moments with festies. Inspired by the return of the Y2K aesthetic among Gen Z-ers, we brought to life a vibrant photogenic space that allowed festival goers to be their authentic selves and capture the moment in the moment - no phones, no girds, #nofilters.

The heart of our experience - a camera shop, where Card Members and Prospects can either rent or purchase a camera to capture the moment - powered by a small business partner, Paper Shoot Cameras. Once festival goers took their photos they could pick their favs and save, share and even print the best one on a tote bag in our photo lab.

We also partnered with Black Pink for an exclusive merch drop as well as Little Words Project for exclusive giveaways for those Platinum and Centurion card members.

ROLE
Associate Design Director, 3D Designer, Experience Designer

Responsible for the overall look and feel, the material selections, the space layout and flow, the initial sketches, the 3D renders, assisting with graphics, sourcing all furniture and props, working with the technical designer to create drawings and lastly working with vendors and reviewing fabrication drawings.
